With its strategic location at the Al Ain International Airport, the academy offers the best in Pilot Training facilities. Sitting on over 3000 Sq.M the main block houses the administration offices as well as the rotary division. The academy’s Flight Training facilities are co-located within the Horizon campus area and the dispersal consists of 9 helipads which are adjacent to the Al Ain International Airport runway threshold while the fixed wing division is located at the recently constructed hangar.



The academy was also chosen by Cessna to be an authorized service Centre and a centre for Cessna Pilot Training program and has received the GCAA Approval as a Maintenance Organization. With the support of the Engineering department the fleet is well maintained which has greatly facilitated the eliminating of aircraft downtime.

Weather conditions in Al Ain when compared with other flight - schools in the UK, Australia and the US, offer fewer days lost due to poor weather and have the additional benefits of presenting many opportunities for limited power scenarios, mountain flying, and desert training conditions

To further augment the training programs, horizon also hosts flight simulator for both the helicopter and Aeroplane training programs. The devices, though not full motion simulators give an immersion effect and are designed to offer high fidelity simulation to aide in instruction.

Location


Al Ain is an oasis city and the second largest in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Having a history dating back to the 4th millennium BC, Sheikh Zayed's vision and commitment has seen Al Ain grow into the modern city it is today and one of the greenest in Arabia. Planned as a garden city, the visitor is taken by the multitude of roundabouts, each offering a unique display of water, landscaping and sculpture. Boulevards are tree lined and there are no high rise buildings.

Al Ain's scenic beauty, its entertainment park and museum are a major attraction as a holiday resort. Archaeological excavations have shown that around 3000 B.C., an advanced civilization existed in this area. The best times to visit Al Ain are in the winter when time can be spent exploring the ancient archaeological sites, the hot springs in Jebel Hafeet, the zoo etc.

Al Ain is located about 160 km east of Abu Dhabi and the same distance south-east of Dubai. It is a one and a half hour drive from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. There are also domestic and international flights to the Al Ain International airport.
